2024-03-27In the huge system of modern industry, Forging Casting parts are like a solid cornerstone, supporting the operation of various fields. From high-precision equipment in aerospace to ordinary machinery in daily life, Forging Casting parts are everywhere and play an irreplaceable key role.
Forging: The art of giving metal soul
Forging is a processing method that applies external force to metal in solid state to make it plastically deform, so as to obtain parts with specific shape, size and performance. This process is like an artistic creation that gives metal soul. Through forging, defects such as pores and shrinkage inside the metal are cleverly pressed together, and coarse grains are refined to form a dense and orderly organizational structure. This structural optimization directly gives forgings excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, enabling them to withstand heavy loads and impact loads. Like the spindle and transmission shaft of machine tools, they need to withstand huge torque and pressure during operation. They are forged to ensure stable operation of equipment and efficient production.
There are many types of forging processes, and free forging is one of the more basic ones. It uses simple tools to roughen, lengthen, bend, punch, expand, and other operations on ingots or bars to produce relatively simple-shaped part blanks. Just like a craftsman freely shapes the shape of metal with superb skills. Die forging is like creating a precise "mold stage" for metal. The metal billet is compressed and deformed in a forging die with a specific shape, thereby obtaining forgings with complex shapes and high dimensional accuracy. The crankshaft in the automobile engine has complex shapes and high precision requirements, which require die forging technology to achieve. Ring forging, also known as ring rolling, uses a ring machine to make the ring produce continuous local plastic deformation, achieve wall thickness reduction, diameter expansion, and cross-sectional profile forming. It is often used to manufacture various annular parts, such as bearing rings.
Casting: The magic of shaping complex shapes
Casting is different from forging. It is a process of introducing liquid metal into a mold and obtaining a casting after it cools and solidifies. This process is like magic, which can shape metal into various complex shapes. Especially for parts with complex inner cavity structures, the casting process shows incomparable advantages. In machine tools, internal combustion engines and other equipment, a large number of parts such as bed, column, box, etc., due to their complex shapes and requirements for pressure bearing capacity, casting technology has become the first choice for manufacturing them.
Among the casting processes, sand casting is the most common. It uses sand as the main molding material to prepare the casting mold, which is low-cost, flexible and widely adaptable. Castings produced by sand casting methods in various countries around the world account for 70% - 80% of the total casting output. However, in order to meet higher precision and quality requirements, special casting came into being.
Investment casting, often called "lost wax casting", is made by coating the surface of the pattern made of fusible material with refractory material to make a shell, then melting and discharging the pattern to obtain a casting without a parting surface, and pouring after high-temperature roasting. This process can produce castings with extremely high dimensional accuracy and geometric accuracy and low surface roughness, and is particularly suitable for manufacturing precision parts such as blades of turbine engines in the aerospace field. Pressure casting uses high pressure to press molten metal into the cavity of a precision metal mold at high speed. The molten metal cools and solidifies under pressure to form castings. It has the advantages of high production efficiency and good product quality. It is widely used in the automotive industry, instrumentation industry and other fields.
Forging Casting parts has become an indispensable element in the development of modern industry with its unique process charm and excellent performance. With the continuous advancement of science and technology, forging and casting technology is also continuously innovating, developing in a more precise, efficient and green direction, injecting a steady stream of power into the development of various industries.
